Gamers with mobile phones could soon get the chance to take the role of William Wallace in a new game based on a Hollywood blockbuster.
Artificial Life has teamed-up with Paramount Digital Entertainment (PDE) to create a real-time strategy game based on the 1995 Mel Gibson epic Braveheart.
The game, which will be compatible with a range of 2.5G and 3G mobile phones, will follow the plot of the film, in which Wallace - one of Scotland's most legendary heroes - fights to save Scotland from its English rulers.
It will take place across ten locations; including Sterling, Paisley, Falkirk, Edinburgh, Lanark and York and according to Sandi Isaacs, senior vice president of mobile and interactive at PDE, will be a "natural extension" of the movie.
"We are pleased to continue our working relationship with Artificial Life as a partner for this game," he added.
In 1996, Braveheart won five Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Effects in Sound Effects Editing, Best Makeup and Best Picture, and was nominated for a further five.
